Toshiba 32XV505DB Features
The Toshiba 32XV505DB, as part of the infamous and award winning Toshiba Regza range offers an incredible amount of features. This slimline and aesthetically pleasing Full HD LCD TV is chock full of extra features you'll come to love.
ENHANCED DETAIL
Achieving the best possible picture detail needs the right balance between brightness and contrast, with too much or too little of either resulting in issues. The Toshiba 32XV505DB's Dynamic Contrast technology automatically adjusts the LCD panel backlight, depending on the level of brightness required by the original signal.
Dimming the backlight enables the system to reproduce fine detail and render dark scenes more realistically, with darker shades having much greater depth. Increasing backlight brightness for scenes requiring more colour, produces more vibrant images with a greater intensity. The process is almost instantaneous, easily coping with fast scene changes, whilst retaining the contrast levels essential for good detail.
LUMA SENS
Although Dynamic Contrast is very smart, until now it wasn't able tp take into account room lighting conditions. The Toshiba 32XC505DB Full HD LCD TV possess Luma Sens technology that improves picture quality whilst reducing power consumption. It detects the level of ambient light and adjusts the brightness levels of the LCD backlight. In a darkened room it will reduce the power to the backlight, whilst allowing it to dynamically alter the contrast as required by individual scenes. You get the contrast you need for perfect screen images in any lighting conditions and you save energy too; a definite win-win situation
PRECISE COLOUR CONTROL
We know many of you like to change the colour performance of your screen to match your personal requirements, which is why we developed our 3D Colour Management technology. This allows you to ‘fine tune’ the brightness, hue and saturation levels of six colours until you achieve the look you want.
HDMI CONNECTIVITY
High Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI™) is now the industry standard for connecting modern audio visual equipment, having superseded SCART. HDMI allows transmission of uncompressed digital video and multi-channel audio content through a single cable, with information transfer rates far higher than with previous connections. The use of a single cable greatly simplifies the installation of home entertainment systems and ensures the best quality picture and sound reproduction. The Toshiba 32XV505DB has three HDMI™ connections, allowing you to connect to more than one HD source without having to continually disconnect and reconnect different pieces of your equipment. In future it is expected all digital equipment, HD televisions and games consoles will feature HDMI™; so its essential you have multiple connections to future-proof your Full HD LCD TV.
POWERFUL AUDIO PERFORMANCE
It is recognised that sound plays a major part in the enjoyment of everything that is watched on television. This is why as much effort is put into the audio quality produced by the 32XV505DB as the picture quality.
The XV series delivers an audio performance every bit as impressive as its image quality, thanks in part to SRS WOW audio technology. It combines forefront technologies which improve upon the dynamic performance of compressed digital audio content. It magnifies the size of the stereo image to take on greater proportions compared to the physical size of the speakers giving the output.
Usefully the position of the virtual sound field is lifted to ear level, the naturally perfect audio position. Bass performance is improved and the sound stage is altered to remove the spatial clues the brain relies on to inform it where a sound is coming from. What this will do is trick you into believing sounds are all around you, rather than just at the front. The overall effect is one of a truly powerful audio performance that takes you to heart of the action.
AUDIO DESCRIPTION
The XV series models have an integrated tuner capable of providing Audio Description to digital programmes supporting the feature. Audio Description is an essential aid for anyone with visual impairment, watching Freeview Digital Broadcasts
Audio Description provides an additional narrative between programme or film dialogue, describing all significant aspects of the scene on screen. It describes anything important to the understanding of the story, like facial expressions, clothing or even who various characters are.

This results in reduction in the delay between you moving the joystick on your controller and the response you see on the screen, whilst also offering 1:1 Pixel mapping known as exact scan. Meaning you get the full image displayed on the screen – ideal for playing games online giving you the edge over the competition who don’t have the full picture.

Cleaning the TX-32LZD85 Screen
Cleaning a Panasonic TX-32LZD85 HDTV isn’t as simple as cleaning the tradition television set. Depending on the television screen, there are a number of things that typical cleaning products have that will permanently ruin the delicate screens on most HDTV sets.
With spring cleaning fever on us today, many people are looking for ways to make their HDTV screens look like new. Unfortunately, the glass cleaners used on the windows will usually damage to the screen. The liquid works its way down to the bottom of the screen and then actually creeps back up behind the screen and the protective plastic. The screen develops large, dark smudges where ever this occurs.
Many of the cleaning solutions on the market also contain chemicals that slowly deteriorate the surface of the screens. This leads to streaks, scratches, and smudges on the surface that can not be wiped away.
The safest way to clean the HDTV screen in your home is to use the microfiber clothes that many of the manuals recommend. Using high end cleaning solutions is not necessary. The damp cloth will usually do the job. Keep in mind that nothing should be dripping off the cloth, or you could end up with the creeping situation discussed earlier.
The next best thing to do for your Full HD LCD TV is to keep people away from the screen (especially children). You can avoid the smudges and dirt that comes with the finger prints. Regular dusting with a soft, dry cloth (such as the microfiber) will keep your HDTV screen looking great.

- Size. While this may seem obvious, it’s important to keep in mind where your TV is going to be placed - and how much room you have. There is a huge difference between standing in the store looking at a wall of TVs and actually seeing it in your house. So, bottom line - make sure you measure before you buy.
- Type. There are two major types of high definition TVs - LCDs and plasma. An LCD TV like the Toshiba 32VX505DB FULL HD LCD TV is based on the same technology that modern computer monitors use. However, a plasma works by vibrating gas particles inside the TV. Traditionally, plasmas have been able to achieve higher contrast ratios (although LCDs are starting to catch up now). The best way to decide is based on what size TV you’re considering. For smaller sets, LCD is usually the way to go, and for larger sets, plasma would be the better choice. But - if the TV is going to be used in the mountains, or anywhere at a high altitude, get an LCD. Plasmas installed at high altitudes will not produce a good picture because the gas particles will have to work harder in order to form an image.
- Supported Formats. HD video generally falls into two categories - 720p and 1080p/1080i. In order to get the maximum experience from your TV (and especially your Blu-Ray player/gaming console), 1080p is the way to go. Even though most (if not all) HD broadcasts are currently in 720p or 1080i, you never know what the future will hold.
- Contrast Ratio. For those of you who do not know, the contrast ratio on a TV is a ratio of the brightest color to the darkest color that the set is capable of producing. Simply put, a higher contrast ratio will result in a richer picture. The brights will look brighter, and the darks will look darker. Always shoot for the highest possible contrast ratio in order to maximize your viewing experience. My Samsung 32″ has a 7000:1 - and believe me, the difference is there!
Sources. Nothing is worse than connecting a brand-new HDTV to an analog cable signal (That’s what I had to do for a couple months before getting HD programming). Make sure you remember to stop by your local cable or satellite provider pick up an HD set-top box, and sign up for the service. Also, if you want to watch movies in HD, a Blu-Ray player is a nice addition to a new TV.
